Julie Strupp While Rihanna might not be trapped by lack of resources, it doesn't mean she's not susceptible to the psychological elements that can keep women trapped. Some of these include guilt, belief the person will change, and growing up with abusive parents. (Rihanna's father was abusive.) Here's a great (and brief) list of some of these elements: http://womenscommunity.org/why-dont-i-leave.html "On average, female victims leave and return to the relationship seven times because abusers often apologize and promise to change after a victim leaves. The victim returns believing the apologies are sincere. In some instances, leaving the abuser isn’t a goal for the victim. They don’t want the relationship to end, they want the abuse to end."
Julie Strupp Neither artist, actually. Though that "Where Have You Been" song is catchy.
Julie Strupp Hey, thank you. This is something I really care about!
Julie Strupp Thanks for your comment Jonathan! I'd like to hear ideas on how to build back that trust--we seem to be lacking the motivation right now. The focus now is on winning.
