Ursula Brantley As a Christian writing about one of history's greatest preachers and activists, I'm pretty sure that he feared only God. If he feared man how could he preach God's word? I'm sorry if my thoughts seemed to be all over the place. The point I was trying to make was that this man served because it was the right thing to do, but today something bad must happen or it has to be a holiday for people to come together. As members of the human race, we should want to help each other. Lastly, I can tell that you're not a believer. Whether you believe in Him or not, He believes in you. God isn't a word, He is the great I am. God bless.
Ursula Brantley There's nothing wrong with be a wealthy American of any race, gender, or political party. Becoming successful is the American dream, but sometimes people lose or were never taught humility. No one should ever think that they're better than anyone else because at the end of the day we all bleed red. I just feel that a leader should be able to connect on some level with his or her people and Romney has already made it clear that he can't. It's not because his iPod doesn't have a new school playlist because I have love artist like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, and Nirvana as much as I love Kanye West, Common, and Talib Kweli. It's because it's as if he doesn't truly want to help America, he just wants the title and power that comes with it.
Ursula Brantley Stacey Dash and everyone else in America has the right to vote for and promote whoever they fill fit. If ever a Republican candidate came along that I actually felt would be good for the American people, then I would have no problem casting my vote for him or her. Unfortunately in my lifetime, I haven't seen or can't remember seeing a candidate of the Republican Party who has actually been an asset to the American people as opposed to a hinderance. Everyone supporting Romney wants a better future, but I don't believe he would actually be better for our future. He's already made mean and hurtful comments that no one should say or even think, but people are still supporting him. Whether he's speaking about you or not, leaders don't say that.
Ursula Brantley I'm not racist or close-minded please believe me. None of you know me from Eve. I'm always open to new ideas, but I can only vouch for what my eyes have seen and my ears have heard in my 26 years. Everyday there are people who are born into and who acquire wealth, but they never lose their sense of reality and humility. Borrow money from my parents to go to college?? I graduated top of my class, but Romney would rather me borrow money from my single, struggling mother and stuggling father to go to college. If life were that easy, everyone would have a college education. In my eyes, America isn't a business and shouldn't really be treated like one. We have to do what's best not just for our generation, but for the generations to come.
Ursula Brantley First of all, let me start off my saying that I didn't mean to offend anyone with my ideas but I see that I have. As I stated, I don't believe every Republican is racist or don't care about lower class people. Also, I don't believe that if you're rich that you can't connect with lower class people. I said that the majority of wealthy Republicans that I've come into contact with aren't or at least don't seem to be able to step off of their high horse. The average Republican is a normal American just like the average Democrat is a normal American. I get that and respect that, but what I don't understand is how so many people can honestly back Mitt Romney when he's made it clear that he's not as focused on America as he should be?
Ursula Brantley How can you help the good old blue-collar Americans when you really don't care about their struggle or you have never had to struggle? Just because you had relations with some person from a certain race doesn't mean you actually care about that race. Once again, I'm not calling him a racist because I don't know him personally. I'm just saying that his actions don't exhibit those of a man that I want to lead or even co-lead my country. I want a President who actually understands what I'm going through. When you have a President's real and down-to-earth, his passion is to truly help you and not just to help those he can actually connect with.
Ursula Brantley What many people don't realize is that I never called Ryan a racist. If you read my first paragraph, I clearly state that. The only point I'm trying to bring to light is if you don't genuinely care about everyone, then how can you properly lead everyone. There's a difference in making the very much needed yet unpopular decision and completely stepping on lower-class people. How can you care about everyone when you're all for raising taxes and things of that nature for working-class people? Working-class Americans greatly outnumber upper-class Americans which means America is really made up of the same people that they're trying to step on.
Ursula Brantley It may be pretty funny, but in all seriousness this country is pretty jacked up in the spiritual area and needs help of some kind. The same country that was founded on "In God We Trust" finds it funny when anyone mentions the fact that we need a spiritual revamp of some kind. It's true that religion and spirituality is a personal choice, but buttloads of evil are basically taking over the world. When are people ever going to take spirituality seriously to any extent? I'm not saying that everyone should be Christian and it should be a law or anything. I'm just saying that everyone really needs to take a look in the mirror and into our souls. If evil and bad things exist, why is it so hard to believe that there is good out there? Just saying.
Ursula Brantley Mitt Romney is the type of person that I just wouldn't want in office anywhere, but unfortunately that's a dream. I mean he's one who's heart isn't truly with the people he's serving. To him it's business and all business. When you're dealing with people's lives you must have heart in order to properly lead them. You must put yourself in their shoes and in the shoes of generations to come. I don't feel like anything is a lost cause. With enough hard work it can be saved, but if not then the effort that was put forth will speak for itself. At the end of the day, you can at least say I put my best foot forward.
Ursula Brantley When my daughter and all the other little girls of the world grow up, they should have lots of positive people to look up. Times aren't what they used to be when we all were growing up. There's more and more negativity than positivity. I just don't want their options of positive role models to be limited just because some women were never introduced to her. I always make sure to inform her of all types of positive, encouragings things that she doesn't always learn elsewhere. I don't expose her to everything, but I don't want to candy coat things with her. The more positive things you know, there's a better chance that you will make positive decisions. When you know more of the honesty of life, your not as shocked and hurt when life happens.
Ursula Brantley I decided to write this article because no matter how much people try and candy coat things the fact still remains that women, as a whole, aren't respected the way that we should be. Sometimes women get passed over certain positions, different types of recognitions, and everything just because they're women. It's not that they're not intelligent or anything like that, it's just that sometimes men of power want to keep it that way...MEN of power. There are many people who don't see gender as an issue and I believe that's awesome, but that's not always the case. Sometimes people are intimidated by an intelligent women. Once again, that's not always the case, but it does happen. Great minds should come together and use their minds for good.
Ursula Brantley What everyone fails to realize is that Zimmerman has so many noticeable contridictions going on. When people tell the truth their story never waivers. If you hear the same story 1000 times then it's probably true, but when you hear differences then there's a lie somewhere. That's just common sense.
Ursula Brantley You see, that's exactly the type of thing that my daughter needs to know to succeed in life. Thanks Louisiana public school system, you're doing so much to help mold some real winning American citizens. I'm ever so confident when I send my daughter to school that she's truly getting a quality education.

Ursula Brantley One month?? I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Your pain is more fresh than mine is. I remember my first month......all i can say is i commend you for your strength. The reality of the siituation didn't seem to truly hit me until about 2 or 3 months after TJ's passing. I remember having this complete breakdown in my room one night. From that moment, it was like I kinda lost touch for a while. I didn't go crazy or anything, but I wasn't mentally or emotionally healthy by any means and that caused a domino effect of events and choices that helped mold me into who I am today. My mindset now is nowhere near what it was then. If God hadn't had his hand on me things would be way different today. Our kids are hanging out together :)
Ursula Brantley I would just like to say thank you to all of you for your kind and uplifting words. The year long unhealthy relationship with my son's father and the death of my son brought about a chain reaction of trials that I never ever imagined I would have to face. I wouldn't have thought my life would end up this way when I was younger. You never truly understand how situations effect every aspect of your life until you begin to stop and reevaluate yourself. I've been on a rollercoaster of mental and emotional changes for a while now and it has effected many things, but I'm doing by best to make it. If it weren't for God and my daughter, I don't know where I would be.

Ursula Brantley I love Erykah Badu. Her personality and free spirit is always so refreshing. She's absolutely right when she says that all of her work has some sort of artistic vision. Erykah Badu only make calculated moves. Though her move may be shocking, she'd doing it for a reason and usually has no problem telling you what that reason is. I'm glad that she fired back in the way that she did because The Flaming Lips went too far.
Ursula Brantley That's true but we aren't with our kids all the time and we won't be with them forever. I'm a believer in giving my daughter choices and allowing her to make her own choices (of course I monitor her but I give her a little bit of freedom and responsibility at times). With this, I feel comfortable that she knows the right choices to make and she's usually excited about making the right choices all because Jesse, Zuri, and China said that right choices are cool. We all did it growing up, if our idols thought it was cool then we thought it was cool.
Ursula Brantley That's fine, you're more than welcome to do so. Being that I know for a fact that I'm still learning this whole parenting thing, I don't mind some help from others. I didn't say that I would rely completely on Disney and others to raise my child, but if my daughter listens to Rocky and CeCe from "Shake it Up" when they tell her certain positive things then what's the harm in letting her listen? We all did it as kids, sometimes we listened to TV before we listened to our parents even though our parents were telling us the exact same things. I'm all for giving my daughter options and letting her explore new things. Every child has their own way to learn different things just like every parent has their own ways of raising their children.
Ursula Brantley Let's look at this for a moment. He KNOWINGLY lied to officials about his finances so that his bond could get reduced in order to get out of jail. He also KNOWINGLY spoke in code with his wife on jailhouse phones (WHICH ANY IDIOTS KNOWS ARE RECORDED PHONE CALLS) about the amount of his online defense fund. He tried to hide money and I feel he's hiding more than that. People only lie when you're trying to hide things for one reason or another. If there is nothing to hide, then you have no reason to lie and mislead others. I strongly feel that the truth of the entire situation will be revealed to all in due time. What's done in the dark always comes to light. It may take some time, but the light always comes through.
