Alex Baudoin The MLB definitely needs to find ways to speed up the rate of play. Games are taking way too long and many fans are beginning to lose patience. While instituting a pitch clock and prohibiting batters from calling timeout would help alleviate some of these problems, these reles would also change the scope of the game. For example, lf a runner on first base knows the pitcher has 15 seconds to throw a pitch, it would become much easier to steal second base. The list goes on. I suggest reducing all MLB to 8 innings. While such a change may seem drastic, it would prove to be the most effective way in shortening games and making them more interesting.
