Wendy Grenier Entertaining article, I'll have to keep these in mind should I find the need to date again.
Wendy Grenier Paul, you said pretty much what I was thinking. Of course he cares about reelection. Why wouldn't he? Regardless of the reasoning; a smart campaign move or a heartfelt, supportive statement, it was verbalized. He's going to gain and lose supporters for having said it; but I for one, am glad he made the statement.
Wendy Grenier Thank you Haleigh. Great response, I agree.
Wendy Grenier I think you're missing the teen's point. The magazine's audience is the teens and pre-teens, not the adults. So who reads the stuff? The kids do, not the adults. She, a teen, she stood up and said something. Kudos to her, I am thankful that their are teens who "get it" and want to do something about it. If the audience says "no", then maybe they'll get the message. I choose not to purchase the magazines for my kids, but that doesn't mean that they won't have them at some point. Picking battles is a critical part of parenting. We try to teach our girls the right things, but I don't pick out their clothing for them, and I don't control their every move. That just promotes disaster. We all have to work together to progress.
Wendy Grenier I was too, thinking about the fact that many of the attendees texting or websurfing while in attendance. For those like me, who are completely attached to my phone, I would have a hard time with this, but my usage is for personal reasons, not business. Sometimes the phone is the lifeline of the business, so I can see how that would be a turn-off as well.
Wendy Grenier I agree with George, that celebrities jumping onto political topics is not necessarily impressive for me either, but there is a group out there that will listen to and follow everthing that celebrities say because of their status. So in this case, I hope it helps, even if in some small way.
Wendy Grenier Ahh, the 90's; great times with great music. I introduced my hubby to the likes of Pearl Jam and STP. He was more into the hair bands. Not all of today's music sucks as you say. My pre-teens have found some tolerable stuff, although I do prefer the music of the 70's and the 90's grunge bands to today's tunes. There will always be room on my playlist for music, regardless of it's era or genre.
