Syra Sharif Good article. I think millennials love the digital, but nothing beats a real-life book. I also think there are still some that like to read newspapers and magazines in print form, though the majority read it in print form though it almost has more of a vintage feel to it compared to reading something digitally.
Syra Sharif legit excited for #4.
Syra Sharif Late comment, but this is all true. You really have to work with what you're given and hope for the best sometimes.
Syra Sharif Yes, I was happy to see him speak on these issues as well and specifically. I only hope we see green issues pushed through among the mass of heated other issues (immigration, economy).
Syra Sharif Another way to look at it is that chivalry is not really as overly romantic or dramatic as it once was. Young woman today want to earn their own respect. I think that women look towards feminist ideals to shape a brighter future for themselves, whether they choose to admit that or not. I don't think everyone thinks of chivalry and kindness in the same way. Anyone can be chivalric if they wanted to, but everyone should be kind and respectful to others.
Syra Sharif It was actually not anything entirely unexpected for him to address. I was waiting for him to mention Newtown, knowing it would come up at some point with everyone wearing the ribbons. Clearly, he saved the heartwarming stories until the end which if anything were the better parts of his speech (probably the highlights).
Syra Sharif Thanks for this, will definitely be picking it up and reading it.
Syra Sharif Good list, my favorite was at DNC 2004.
Syra Sharif Lincoln was my favorite. I haven't seen the others mentioned, though I plan to see them hopefully soon (ish).
Syra Sharif Oh, I'm not saying that this site is not inclusive but there are people from all different background and they all want to contribute something. I suppose it is a kind of refuge, for people of all ages. Also, this was written during election season and every issue (for every voter was being brought to the table). Take care.
Syra Sharif Yes, kind of. I think people lose themselves in social media and technology, sometimes forgetting the world around them. We love being connected, but one wonders if we're all just hiding behind something in an effort to escape our own fears of the world. I think this is an interesting topic and I could go on about it.
Syra Sharif yup, winter wonderland over here in Indiana. Blizzard for awhile, I guess be careful what you wish for.
Syra Sharif I agree, sometimes being so connected can only leave one feeling so disconnected.
Syra Sharif Yup, gift cards were definitely in. http://24.media.tumblr.com/c844c60629317ca3570ef2b507b61d2a/tumblr_mfm8q86vfw1qewacoo1_500.jpg
Syra Sharif Yes, for sure. I think you can get crafty with it and make card-holders for the gift-cards too, if one is into that.
Syra Sharif Whoa, there's an actual page for this?! Alright, I need to take a screenshot of this before it explodes.
Syra Sharif Schools are doing similar things like social media classes, studying communication theory (which I think is kind of interesting). This? well easy A, if you ask me.
Syra Sharif This is a great idea and I applaud the girl Hatch for starting it, I hope girls latch onto the idea that modesty is important. However, everyone should be allowed to have their own identity. I think the goals and standards of the club might need to be refined more, so that everyone knows where they are coming from. (Also, the rap is kind of terrible and doesn't really do much to get others interested).
Syra Sharif Oh, tumblr how I waste my life on you.
Syra Sharif Well, that was funny. You forgot the chemistry cat: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=39337318 (though, admittedly that one is a little nerdy). Oh, internet.
Syra Sharif It is isn't it! I almost thought for a second it would end with "every kiss begins with Kay."
Syra Sharif Great list! I love that Sal Khan is on here, Khan Academy (his company) is the very best really (for anyone who loves learning and knowledge and wants help in certain subjects).
Syra Sharif Good points. Online college is becoming the norm in a lot of places, it's probably best for everyone to try them out. You're right, it does not work for everyone, but the world today is online and everything moves at a fast pace and people need to be able to adapt to change.
Syra Sharif This is the best thing ever. Anderson is the best.
Syra Sharif I miss bookstores, at least some independent bookstores still exist. I get why people like e-reading, but books are something to cherish. It's good that people are reading more, though
