The department did not alter any schedules or allow for any special treatment to the officers. The officers were not allowed to be paid overtime to shoot, nor were the officers allowed to maneuver shifts or schedules to accommodate the film crews. Your concerns about quality are valid. Your suggestions about ethics are way out of line and false....

Yeah. I believe they will show cops "shaking down" petty drug dealers, getting "comped" for tows, using their uniforms to get "free meals" taking payoffs from O. C. beating on people because they are black, or hispanic, racism, sexism, and all of the other things that "big city" cops do.

"Boston’s Finest can either be a genuine critical engagement, or a form of BPD propaganda. On February 27, we’ll see which one it chooses." Or it could be exactly what TV is: Entertainment. The bottom line is advertising dollars driven by ratings. If the show makes money it will continue. If it fails to make money it will be snuffed. My theory is that for some reason civilians don't want to know what it is really like to be in the service or be an unelected public servant. They don't have to think too hard that way.
