Romney Hot Mic 47 Percent Comment: Do You Think It's As Bad As Pundits Claim it is?
Share on FacebookMany pundit this morning are calling Mitt Romney's hot mic "47%" comment the quote that won the election for Barack Obama.
Mitt Romney apparently said the 47% of people who are for sure voting for President Obama are doing so because they want a government handout, as seen in a video of a private fundraising event posted by Mother Jones' David Corn.
Romney says:
“There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That, that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what … These are people who pay no income tax."

In response, Romney says his comments in the video are accurate but "not elegantly stated."
