Campus police at Santa Monica College pepper sprayed 30 students last night who were disrupting a Board of Trustees meeting. Students were protesting the plan to offer more expensive classes not covered by the state.
According to Jenna Chandler, more than 100 students stormed the meeting shouting "shame on you" only to be met with pepper spray by campus police. The building was evacuated for nearly two hours. Loud screams can be heard on video:

Five students were treated by paramedics while as many as 30 had significant exposure to pepper spray. The trustees said the incident was a "black eye" on the school.

As part of the Occupy protests, students at UC Davis were pepper sprayed earlier this year, causing national outrage.
