The conspiracy theory about Osama bin Laden's body may be right. His body was not buried at sea as originally reported; it was instead flown to a CIA base in the U.S., according to RT.com which published leaked Startfor e-mails:
Stratfor’s vice-president for intelligence, Fred Burton, believes the body was “bound for Dover, [Delaware] on [a] CIA plane” and then “onward to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda [Maryland],” an email says.
RT.com's account has been heavily disputed. The article was further fueld by a headline from DrudgeReport.com. The government originally reported that bin Laden was buried at sea in order to prevent a shrine from being built, creating an obvious target for an Al Qaeda counter-attack.
Instead, the leaked e-mails suggest that the U.S. government lied in its official reports and instead transported Osama's body for further analysis. This wouldn't be the only part of the Osama story that has changed. The government originally announced that Osama was killed because he was armed and trying to fight the Navy Seals. This report turned out to be wrong, as Osama was unarmed.
When I originally heard the official government report, I felt the government's story did not add up. Why would you execute one of the most knowledgeable terrorists in the world when you've caught him unarmed? Why not try to extract information from him alive, especially if you know that he has still been actively planning attacks? And if you did kill him to minimize any risk in the operation, wouldn't you want to study the man that has evaded you for a decade?
The U.S. waged one of the most costly man-hunts in the history of the world to find Osama, one would expect them to learn every possible detail possible from his capture.
Until now, these are only pure allegations and rumors. I'll keep you posted with more updates.
