Think you have what it takes to start publishing right away? Join the PolicyMic political journalism bootcamp, and we'll teach you everything you need to know!

Participants in the bootcamp will learn to write provocatively and persuasively about politics and culture. In short, we will teach everything we know about new media. Past members include college students, graduate students in public policy, and established professionals in the media and government.

As a member of the bootcamp, you will complete a series of challenges over the course of 7 weeks designed to test and train your writing and new media skills. You will compete alongside our other bootcamp members. Along the way, there are prizes to win while our editors give you feedback on your writing. When you're done, you will have a polished portfolio of writing and an audience of readers.

The deadline to apply is this Friday, May 18th.

Dillon Cory."The PolicyMic bootcamp is a wonderful way for aspiring writers to hone their writing skills, develop their opinions, and get published to a wide audience ... Whether you are a experienced writer, political junkie, or just want to learn about internet media, I am sure it ... will be a rewarding experience."

       -Dillon Cory, UChicago 2014

"The bootcamp was a fun and challenging way for me to gain experience with political writing while under the guidance of a knowledgeable and supportive editing team. I now feel better equipped for the job market with a new set of tools applicable to all varieties of writing and a better understanding of how to maximize journalism in the Internet age."

                                      -Melissa Freeman, UC Davis 2012

Cameron English"If you are interested in political journalism or public policy research, go through PolicyMic's boot camp. Not only will you get an opportunity to build an audience and interact with a knowledgeable and diverse community, but you will work with a team of talented editors that will help sharpen every aspect of your writing ... I highly recommend it."
