Michele Bachmann: Obamacare Will "Literally" Kill People

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) gave a speech on the House floor on Thursday where she implored other House members to repeal Obamacare before it "literally" begins to kill the innocent men, women, and children of America.

“That’s why we’re here because we’re saying let’s repeal this failure before it literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens!”

Mrs. Bachmann considers the repeal of Obamacare as part of her duty as a "believer of Christ." This is the almost fortieth attempt by Republicans to repeal Obamacare. This latest effort to repeal Obamacare is part of the Republican budget

“Let’s love people, let’s care about people. Let’s repeal it now while we can,” she said.

Does Michele Bachmann know something about Obamacare that we don’t? Mrs. Bachmann, the people of this great country have the right to know when we can expect the killing rampage to begin.

“As people of faith, I'm a born again believer in Jesus Christ. And I believe, as part of my duty as a believer in Christ and what he has done for me, that we should do for the least of those who are in our midst. That's my personal belief and my personal conviction. And that's why I want our government to create the space so that we can help people, because I'll guarantee you one thing, Mr. Speaker, this doesn't help people," said Bachmann.

The religious rationalization here is sketchy at best. Christ believed in healing the sick. He believed that providing for the poor and the sick was not only a duty but an obligation. At its core that is what the health care law aims to do. Her vehement opposition to the health care law has nothing to do with her religion. She is only using it as an excuse to explain away her political reservations.

It’s been a busy week for Michele Bachmann who literally ran away from Dana Bash of CNN. The spree began after Bash asked her to provide proof that President Obama wasting taxpayer money on a lavish lifestyle.
