"I'm pretty much just over the moon," he said. "It feels good to be recognized by other musicians or people that are part of the Grammy voting committee. I'm a voter too, so it's cool. It's like peer recognition, so I can't really argue with that. I think we're honored."
- Nate Ruess
Nate states how he feels about being nominated. If you aren't watching yet, wait till you see how he and the band feel about winning!
Okay, the whole Alice in Wonderland thing is a bit much, but I do think this fairy tale (of sorts) has a real resonance for young women. All the cute little bunnies hopping (and soon huming) a certain way to make that move from childhood to the understandings of adulthood. Don't flip out on me. I'm rough quoting Bruno Bettleheim, "Understanding Fairytales."
Just in case you haven't seen a real live recording in a studio, here is the totally amazing Joan Osbourne, nominated for Best Blues Album this year. Shake your hips!
SIX time nominated Frank Ocean brings style and substance to the Grammy's. Too much talk about his sexuality, in my opinion. Who cares? It's time to get over it, really. I am just happy to see some really elegant style on the red carpet, combined with great talent.
Are you a fan of Mumford and Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, or Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros? Well they got together and made an interesting film that just won a Grammy for Best Long Form Video! Check out this trailer for a cool look into three bands on one train headed to New Orleans.
