There has been a school shooting at Lone Star College in north Houston, witnesses and authorities say.
So far there is little information on the shooting. A campus spokesperson confirmed that shots have been fired on the campus of Lone Star College in north Houston.
A student told the local ABC News affiliate that she heard five shots, and they sounded as if they occurred outside, in an area between the library and the cafeteria.
Other students say they heard gunshots when they were in cafeteria.
The gunman is reportedly at large: He is reportedly wearing an Atlanta Falcons jersey and a red hat.
So far, no official alert has been sent out by campus officials. All information has been passed to students via word of mouth.
There are unconfirmed reports of three people injured. Medical crews could be seen tending to at least three victims outside the building. Hospitals in the area say there is no influx of patients. Their conditions are not known, nor the nature of their injuries. At least one person is being taken by ground ambulance to Ben Taub Hospital.
Some portions of campus are being evacuated, and other students are being instructed to shelter in place. Campus spokesperson Vicki Cassidy says there is a shelter in place at the North Campus.
