50 Shades of Grey Movie Cast: Justin Bieber and Ian Somerhalder to Play Christian Grey

EL James, the author of the smash hit erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey, will be interviewed today by Katie Couric on her new CBS talk show to provide further insight into the trilogy series of books -- and soon-to-be movies -- that has women going gaga all around the world with the steamy love/domination story between billionaire business tycoon and philanthropist Christian Grey and young student Anastasia Steel.

James is expected to address the summer-long wild speculation about the cast of the upcoming film version of her controversial novel which has blogger and online fans scrambling to find definite clues and details about some of the most commented stars expected to audition for the main roles.

So far, the sweepstakes have favored The Notebook's Ryan Gosling, White Collar's Matt Bomer and Man of Steel's Henry Cavill for the role of Grey. On the Anastasia Steel side, some of the most suggested actresses have been Harry Potter's Emma Watson as well as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's Rooney Mara, and even Justin Bieber girlfriend's Selena Gomez.

However, there's a second tier of actors and actresses rumored to be interested in the much anticipated and coveted project. These include The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder, Magic Mike's Channing Tatum as well as True Blood's Aleksander Skarsgard and Snow White and the Huntsman’s Chris Hemsworth for Grey. Ted's Mila Kunis and Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale have also been mentioned for the role of Ana Steel.

Even pop sensation Justin Bieber has allegedly been asked to participate in the hot project, though it is safe to assume that due to the lack of acting chops (and muscles) the singer of "Boyfriend" would probably be cast as the young version of Christian Grey instead of the much older version who brings Ana Steel to the "Red Room of Pain/Pleasure" -- which it will probably be played by someone like Somerhalder, Cavill or Gosling.

And, though the project is pretty much in its early stages, and James, has repeatedly denied on Twitter that the roles have already been assigned, the world would be watching the author's interview for clues as to who would she favor to play the famous fictional characters. And if James' husband is any indication, Ryan Gosling will play Christian Grey. However, Henry Cavill, the prototype for the controversial character, could also have the chance to fight Gosling and others in the audition process. Meanwhile, Matt Bomer and now Ian Somerhalder have already been immortalized as Christian Grey in fan-made YouTube trailers that depict them as the most coveted role of the decade.
