DNC Thursday Schedule of Speakers Barack Obama Speech Time Joe Biden Scarlett Johansson

Day 3 of the Democratic National Convention is Thursday, and it’s set to be the most epic of them all. Barack Obama will give his keynote speech, one that many analysts are expecting to overshadow Bill Clinton’s oratory brilliance on Wednesday night.

Yeah, that’s right, Obama will be better than Clinton. You better pencil this one into your Thursday night plans.

The complete schedule is below.

President Barack Obama is expected to take the stage in front of a crowd of thousands on at 10 p.m. EDT on Thursday night to accept his party's nomination.

Vice President Joe Biden is expected to speak shortly before him.

“Obama’s angels” — the answer to the Republicans pulling Clint Eastwood on stage, a celebrity appearance from actresses Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, and Kerry Washington — will speak shortly before 8 p.m. Washington, Portman, and Johansson represent a demographic that the Obama camp is hoping to win by a dramatic margin: women and the youth vote. The three women are also ethnically diverse with Johansson and Portman both white, and Washington African-American. Portman also has strong ties to her birth country, Israel. Sources say that the trio of women will come on stage together.

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, who is expected to offer his critique of his state's former governor, GOP nominee Mitt Romney, and extol the president's foreign policy. That speech will come sometime before Biden's, around the 9 p.m. mark.

In what's become a tradition, the convention will hear from a Republican-turned Democrat, former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist. (Former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis played that role at last week's GOP gathering in Tampa, Fla.) Crist, who was widely criticized by Republicans for hugging Obama and embracing his economic stimulus package during a 2009 presidential visit to Florida, left the party and waged a 2010 U.S. Senate bid as an independent. He was thought to be considering another run for governor as a Democrat in 2014.

Obama’s speech will be indoors, which was not the original plan.

Due to severe Charlotte weather forecasts, Obama's speech has been moved from the Bank of America Stadium to the Time Warner Cable Arena. The Obama campaign had hoped to relive the glory of the 2008 campaign by drawing 75,000 people to the outdoor stadium speech.

The president was set to deliver his speech as an open-air affair at Bank of America Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. But a threat of thunderstorms prompted convention planners to move the event indoors to the convention arena that has hosted the first two nights of the program.

That means a much smaller audience, but also a more intimate setting that could heighten the sense of excitement for those watching at home.
