Today, we are super excited to release the redesigned PolicyMic homepage. As our community and audience have grown exponentially in the past 8 months (over 1.4 million unique visitors in the last 30 days), we’ve made several big upgrades to the homepage to accommodate the growth:

1) More democratic

We added a large feature for Most Mic’d stories and Most Read stories. We want the community to find the next Paul Krugman (or George Will), so make sure you’re Mic’ing the best on PolicyMic!

2) Cleaner

We made our article list more visibly appealing and easy to scan. We also added a link to every story published on PolicyMic today, so you can find articles easily.

3) More social

We added your most recent allies / rivals activity to the top right so you can find your friends and Mic or debate them easily.

4) Best articles from across the web

We added a big homepage feature so our community can share their favorite articles and op-eds from across the web. Our algorithm ranks submissions based on time, Mics, and user level, so make sure to Mic the stories you like. The goal is to highlight the most thoughtful articles from across the web, so keep them high quality!

5) Community leaders

We wanted to keep all of our community leaders on the homepage all the time. These are our best users – can you get onto the leaderboard?
