Lollapalooza 2012 Where to Watch LIVE Red Hot Chili Peppers Black Sabbath Performance

Lollapalooza, Chicago's massive annual three-day music festival, is sold out and underway. The wildly popular music festival is going on this weekend, beginning Friday, Aug. 3 and ending Sunday, Aug. 5. This year's headliners include veterans Red Hot Chili Peppers and Black Sabbath, as well as relative-newcomers The Black Keys, and Jack White.

The festival, which first began in the early '90s as a touring festival, has been located in Grant Park, Chicago since 2005. This year, festival planners are expecting 270,000 attendees to show up over the course of the weekend, filling in the 115 acre area which includes eight stages.

As is always the case, fans are as excited about the lesser known acts as they are about the big names. In addition to exciting and high-profile sets by Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean, there is already a lot of buzz about newcomers Tune Yards and Alabama Shakes. This year 140 bands will preform with sounds ranging from soul, to electronica, to rock.

For festival goers, there is a whole lot to see aside from the musical acts. The food area Chow Town features grub from many of Chicago's most popular eateries. And the Sony Cube is a place to check out the latest tech gadgets. Check out the list of acts by day, and scope out the times here
