Call Me Maybe USA Swim Team Video Is an Act of Treason

The United States Olympic swim team has made a viral video featuring them dancing and lip-synching to Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song “Call Me Maybe.”

There are two problems with this video. One, “Call Me Maybe” is the greatest crime against music since Rebecca Black’s “Friday.” Two, and even more disturbing, is the fact that Jepsen is from Canada. Certainly there are plenty of terrible songs by Americans that could have been used in this video instead. This is certinaly an odd way to get pumped up and patriotic for the Olympic Games.

So which is the more serious offense committed by the U.S. swim team here? Singing along to a god-awful song, or singing along to a song by a Canadian ahead of the most patriotic sporting event in history?
