Finally, the week has arrived. The highly-anticipated movie of the summer, "The Dark Knight Rises," starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Christopher Nolan hits screens on Friday, and movie theaters across the country are bracing for high turnout numbers.
Almost every midnight showing of the new Batman film at IMAX theaters across the country is already sold out. There are only 103 IMAX theaters in America, and only 67 which will be showing the movie on opening night. Of these, 49 are already sold out at midnight (all the screenings in New York, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia, Ohio, and Massachusetts are already sold out).
So, if you're hoping to catch a glimpse of the new movie on the night it is released, where should you go? See the theaters with tickets remaining here.
Meanwhile, for non-IMAX theaters, movie theaters are bracing for a high turnout volume so be sure to get your tickets early. In Chatanooga, TN, one assistant manager of the Carmike Battlefield 10 theater said, "This is going to be one of those big ones for the summer that we have been preparing for."
Check your local theater listings for showtimes early in order to guarantee your seat on opening weekend.
