South of the Border – Mexican opposition candidate Enrique Pena Nieto won the country's presidential election on Sunday. Pena Nieto is the new leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), which governed Mexico for 71 years until losing power in 2000. Pena Nieto has pledged to open state-owned oil monopoly Pemex to foreign investors, raise tax revenue, and liberalize the labor market. Daniella Bove-LaMonica explains what is at stake for the U.S.

Looking Ahead This Week – There are only four more jobs reports that matter before Election Day and the first comes this Friday with the June number. It rose to 8.2% last month. Consensus is for a gain of 90K and no change to the 8.2% jobless rate. No U.S. president since World War II has won re-election with a jobless rate above 7.4%. UPDATE FROM ACROSS THE POND: Euro zone unemployment rises to record 11.1 percent in May; Spain rate hits 24.6 percent.
